AHMAD
BASHIR was born c.1932 in a village near Rawalpindi. After completing
an M.A. in Psychology at Karachi University he worked for the newspaper
Dawn (Karachi) and taught at Government College. He moved to London
in 1968 where he worked at sundry jobs, including as a post office clerk
and as a broadcaster for the BBC, until he joined the British Museum.
