ASADUDDIN writes on aspects of Indian Literature(s) and culture, and translates from Ahomiya, Bangla, Hindi and Urdu into English. The Penguin Book of Classic Urdu Stories is his latest published work. He is a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Prize, the Katha Award and the Dr. A.K. Ramanujan Award for translation. Currently, he is Professor and Chair, Department of English, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi.
