MUSHARRAF ALI FAROOQI is the author of the novel The Story of a Widow and the children's picture book The Cobbler's Holiday or Why Ants Don't Wear Shoes. He is currently collaborating on a graphic novel, Rabbit Rap. After his translation of The Adventures of Amir Hamza (Modern Library, 2007), he has published the first book of a projected twenty-four volume translation of the magical fantasy epic Hoshruba (1883-1893). Wesleyan University Press will publish his translation of Afzal Ahmed Syed's Rococo and Other Worlds as part of its Poetry Series in 2010.
