KATHRYN HANSEN is Director of the Center for Asian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where she teaches courses in Hindi and Urdu literature, theater, and gender studies. Her book Grounds for Play: The Nautanki Theatre of North India received the A.K. Coomaraswamy Book Prize in 1994.
