VALERIO PIETRANGELO did the equivalent of an M.A. in modern languages at the University of Rome (La Sapienza) with a thesis on Qurratulain Hyder’s novel Aag ka Darya. He is currently in India engaged in doctoral research on Urdu writing by women about the Partition.
